My final few days in South Africa were spent just south of Durban in the town of Umkomaas which is close to the famous Aliwal Shoals. Located about 30 miles south of Durban, Umkomaas is a small town that seems to be there primarily for the diving industry and I stayed at the Aliwal Dive Centre which had accommodation on site. This suited me fine as diving in KwaZulu Natal generally starts early and is finished by lunchtime as by then the sea has started to get a bit too rough.
Diving is normally from RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats) so groups are small and it’s a bit of fun getting to and from the dive sites. I prebooked 3 days diving (2 dives a day) and arrived around 6:30pm the night before where I met one of the Divemasters and a couple of other lads who were staying at the centre. After I put my luggage in my room, we went around the corner for something to eat before crashing out as it was an early start in the morning.
Aliwal Shoal has a reputation as one of the best dive sites in the world and is a hot spot for sharks so having spent the previous week viewing land predators, it was the turn of the their marine counterparts. The briefing was straightforward and we were soon off out to the first dive site. The marine life viewing started in spectacular fashion before we even reached the dive site with 3 humpbacked whales appearing close by so we took time to head over to them and took a few pictures. Soon they disappeared from view leaving us with the classic ‘whale tale’ view so on we headed to the dive site.
Diving on Aliwal Shoal tends to always involve a current and is always affected by surge so overall, its not ideal for taking photos. However, its something I always try to do and the area is particularly well known for rag-tooth and tiger sharks. My last dive had been in August last year so I started taking pictures of fairly mundane marine life just to get the camera settings correct. By the end of the 2nd dive, I had managed 6 pictures that I was happy with including a small scorpion fish that I nearly put my hand on, a paper fish which I’d never seen before and a turtle.
The following day, the sea was pretty rough with swells of around 3m, not ideal for me as I suffer a bit in small boats. Given the surface conditions, I was a bit surprised that underwater, it was better than the previous day. I managed to get pictures of a Manta Shrimp, a couple of Ramoras (the long thing fish that normally attach themselves to sharks), a video of a Rag-tooth Shark and a turtle eating some soft coral. All in all, it wasn’t a bad collection of pictures but back on the surface, I was a lot less comfortable and was very glad when we got back on dry land. A cooked breakfast and nice cup of tea soon sorted me out ready for an afternoon of laziness.
My third and final days diving saw the best conditions so far. The sea was very flat and visibility under the surface was much improved. Just prior to jumping in, we found a number of dolphins who predictably disappear as soon as the cameras were ready. Never mind, we had 50 minutes underwater ahead of us and in we went. As the previous 2 days, there was a surge and a current but there was also a variety of marine life and I managed to get photos of Potato Cod, Clown Fish, Sea Snake (back half), Scorpion Fish, Moray Eel and a partly hidden Octopus.
Not bad and we were soon back on board heading back to shore. However, June/July in KZN sees the annual Sardine Run and there had been reports of a large shoal about 100km south of us. On the way back we say some activity to the south and headed over to investigate. There we found a small shoal of sardines being attacked by a number of sharks. We also noticed that more and more fishermen were appearing on the coast. The arrival of the Sardines is a big event each winter and they are remorselessly attack by predators from land (humans), sea (dolphins, tuna, sharks, whales) and the air (gannets and other sea birds).
I decided to abandon the 2nd dive of the morning as I wanted to see something of the Sardine Run before I left. I had my breakfast, showered, changed and headed back to the coast. Most of the parking places and vantage points were busy by now and more people were arriving all the time as word of the sardines spread. After a while, I went back to the dive centre and they suggested I head further south so off I went and all along the coast road were fishermen parking up and I also saw people selling sardines from buckets that they had obviously caught earlier that day. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any ‘David Attenborough’ type action with regards to the Sardines but it was interesting nonetheless and I did get to see a little bit more of KZN.
The following morning, I enjoyed a bit of a lay in before the mammoth task of trying to pack everything into my suitcase. Over the last 2 weeks, I’d been given so many things it was a real challenge to get the suitcase closed, never mind under the 23kg limit. However, I eventually binned quite a lot of unwanted paper and the suitcase seemed quite light although the true test would come at check-in and the risk of excess baggage.
Before I left, I handed over the last of my England replica football shirts which were greatly appreciated. We often don’t realise just how hungry people all round the world are for English football so if you travel to these places and have some old football shirts that you no long want, passing them on to people in places like South Africa will be greatly appreciated. I checked out and as I had a few hours to kill before my flight, I headed up to a shopping centre just to the north of Durban for some last minute shopping.

Does anyone know where i can buy a rigid inflatable boat?
Me and a friend want to buy a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) of about 15 horsepower really cheap (possibly under £100). We have looked on ebay and various others but cannot find one that is complete (with motor included) and that is small enough. Does anyone know where i can buy one and who from? It would be best if it was in or near the North of England
Thanks.
Not sure if you'll be able to find anything for less than 100 (well, nothing that floats). You'll probably have to fork out a few more dollars for a good inflatable. I've seen them at various marine supply stores (Pride, Overton, West, etc.) West Marine has web coupons that may ease the pain a little. Check here: http://www.boatsincanada.com/WestMarineSavingsCoupon.aspx
They might even ship to you for free!
Good luck with finding the right boat.

Nothing can beat vinyl car graphics or custom stickers to embellish your dream car, truck or SUV. There are a great variety vehicle graphics available in the market place and you can easily choose the one that captures your personality and creativity. From different vinyl colors to graphic styles and designs, there are almost endless possibilities when it comes to vinyl car graphics.
The designs of car graphics can range from simple vinyl stripes, vinyl lettering to complete digitally printed vehicle wraps. Most women like beautiful shapes such as flower decals, insect stickers, animals, scenery, and tapestry patterns while Men like to deck up their car with more extreme designs, hunting decals, flame decals and racing themed decals. Teenagers like a flashier look that can be achieved with complete vehicle wraps. These vinyl wraps can be of any custom design or even photographs. The image is digitally printed on large sheets on exterior vinyl then applied to the cars surface, trimming off the excess around the doors and windows. This process transforms the vehicle to an almost life like or living vehicle. As long as you have a high quality, high resolution image that can be enlarged to fit your car without distortion, the end results are breathtaking.
Most car graphics that you find in the market usually come with messages and not images. Truck lettering and car lettering are very popular for small business to economically advertise their business. These more commercial applications primarily use vinyl lettering and simple logos. Since these graphics are more affordable, people like to use them on boats, bicycles, truck, helmets, windows, mirrors and many other smooth surfaces.
Vinyl car graphics and vinyl lettering are considered to be the best quality car stickers, and very easy to apply. Thus making vinyl lettering and graphics a smart choice for do-it-yourself applications. The vinyl graphics come pre-spaced with transfer tape over the graphics to keep the letters aligned, aiding in the application. Once the transfer tape is removed, the letters or graphics appear to be painted on. These Vinyl Graphics are extreemly durable and car wash safe. Most Vinyl Decals last for 5-10 years or longer. Vinyl decals may also be reverse cut and applied to the inside of windows, thus eliminating any chance if weather damage.
Modern technique has also come up with car graphics that are UV and weather resistant. Special films and inks now make your graphics last even longer outdoors. These add to the initial cost of the decal or sticker but if you plan on a more permanent location for your vinyl graphics they are well worth it. Many online sign shops offer online design tools that allows you to design, preview and purchase the vinyl lettering and graphics without ever leaving your home or office.
There are many type styles and color choices available to match anyone’s taste and vinyl decal requirements. If you want to make your message really clear, you can opt for reflective car graphics and lettering. These are the perfect way to make your message loud and clear because they stand out at night as well as add sparkle to day time applications. The latest ones are equipped with full color digital printing technology to suit your specific requirements. These will provide the liveliness to your vehicles during the day as well as in the night. This is really beneficial when it comes to promotional purposes. Reflective vinyl graphics will help reduce the collision during night time by up to forty percent.
There are several benefits of applying vinyl car graphics and vinyl lettering to your vehicle. Here are some of the benefits you can enjoy via applying car graphics on your vehicles:
Decoration - Simply just to decorate your vehicle to make it more unique and stand out. Add or show off your personality to passer bys. Attractive vinyl car graphic will surely make heads turn.

Global Warming Puts Heat On Tax Haven Andorra Economy For 2007
After two decades of growing visitor numbers, Andorra has been increasing her visitor numbers to over ten million a year for ski holidays and happily investing for the future to ensure she remains as one of Europe's top ski destinations but that came to a screeching halt earlier this year when the one thing a ski destination really needs didn't arrive - snow.
The Andorra authorities are hoping that the lack of snow which kept so many regular visitors as well as new ones away this year is a one off, and that snow in November will mean a normal level of bookings for the new season.
But if this year is a sign of things to come for the European ski industry as a result of global warming, Andorra is considering a future with little snow, and having to diversify.
Andorra is a tax free country, and benefits from high employment in the financial services and banking sectors, but reports from the country suggest that revenue raising via a new corporate tax is being considered.
But according to a local on-line travel guide for Andorra this is unlikely.
Introducing a corporation tax could be counter-productive as a revenue raiser, they say, adding that Andorra is along with Monaco Europe's most complete tax haven, and it would give high net worth individuals who would be looking for residency in Andorra and spending money in the country second thoughts. The Andorra authorities know that they can't start introducing personal income tax because that really would kill the goose that lays the golden egg. Take away Andorra's ski industry and the country is in trouble - take away her tax haven status too and it would decimate her economy.
New Investment
Andorra has invested heavily in new infrastructure and facilities for the ski tourist in recent years, which would make a second successive poor season particularly hard to bear.
This year Andorra opened a new family friendly ski park in Arinsal, moving away further still from her old image of a cheap and cheerful ski holiday for 18-30 year olds to one that caters well for all.
The snow park includes a conveyor belt and a game zone, designed to give children confidence before they ski and use the chair lifts.
Well known ski villages in Andorra include Soldeu, Ordino as well as Arinsal.
Other new developments in Andorra for the 2007 ski season included a 540 space underground car park in La Massana close to the cable car, and an extension of the beginners area in Arinsal.
Commenting on the new facilities, the travel guide for Andorra claims that should the snow levels return to normal it will allow Andorra to compete with other ski areas in Europe for years to come.
Signs at the entrance of the terrain park say FREESTYLE SKILLS REQUIRED yet people just ignore them and ski through it anyway without any intention of using any of the features, or adults take their kids in there who are beginners and they either end up getting hurt or just get in the way of everybody
So why is it that people choose to ignore the signs? How is it any different from me ignoring slow zone signs and going as fast as I want down a beginner run, I get yelled at by ski patrol for that but not a word is ever said to the people that aren't following rules of the terrain parks
Oh...so much red paint on both sides of this fence. I could type for hours.
Prob.1: Your mountain has chosen to sign the park with a rule it can't enforce.
Prob.2: Obstacles and other skiers/riders downhill have the right-of-way. If you are taking air it is your responsibility to make sure the LZ is clear. If someone bogarts the approach or doesn't call a drop that's rude, but the guy behind them is still responsible to make sure the bonehead idiot who ripped you off doesn't get run over...yeah, it sucks, but that's the way it goes.
Prob.3: People are idiots (see above.) They will always ride above their level.
Prob.4: (My personal fav.) The sign shouldn't be there in the first place. The terrain park should be labeled to ALLOW freestyle use, but not to restrict people who don't freestyle. Granted, riding down the center of the pipe is cheesy, but not something that should be verboten. There are a bunch of reasons why people SHOULD be allowed to ski the park and never touch a feature. Someone who has NEVER been in the park should ski it through to see what it's all about. A younger sib w/o the skills of an older brother/sister should be able to go in and watch the trickster. Yeah...people need to stay clear of the features and keep out of the way of those using the features, but BAN them because they don't have the skills? NO WAY. The on-looker you toss out of the park today could be the next Shaun White. Don't discourage the future! Instead of bitching at them, take that opportunity to educate them. If they are in the way, tell them why what they are doing is dangerous. If a noob is eyeing your tricks, take a minute and show them how to do a simple trick. Too many selfish people anymore. Jeeze, 15 years ago parks were a novelty. Everyone gave pointers and tips to everyone else. We'd do run after run and help each other out.

With a surplus of both power and precision, a good pneumatic pin nailer is one of the best tools a carpenter or crafter can invest in. Raising the bar with accuracy and always professional results, a pin nailer is helpful to every type and degree of crafter. Choosing the best pinner, however, isn't always so easy. To help you navigate your search for the best pneumatic pin nailer, I've amassed some information on the most high-performance and most affordable pin nailers in the pneumatic business.
For the most heavy-duty pneumatic nailing, Senco's line of pneumatic tools is one that truly never fails to impress; with innovation, design, and all-around style, Senco nailers, like the FinishPro 11, a 23 gauge pin nailer, remain in a league of their own. Perfect for your most detailed and intricate projects, this micro pinner is both lightweight and powerful with the extra punch for effective use in harder materials. Additionally, pins fasten securely and leave behind them a virtually invisible hole with no splitting to your materials. Not only is the tool durable with an aluminum housing and tough components, but it is also designed for optimal operator comfort. The pinner drives 23 gauge, headless micro pins from 1" - 2" in length with the power to slide through tough materials while also not splitting or marring your projects and as the tool weighs only 2.9 lbs, it is extremely comfortable to operate throughout awkward or continuous work. Ultimately, with comfort, precision, and power, the pinner is ideal for molding, cabinets, trim, and etc, and pricing at about $240 - $250, the nailer is definitely an investment, but one that will continuously deliver professional, powerful, high-performance results.
Senco's FinsihPro10 (23 gauge) pin nailer is another example of Senco's line of brilliant pneumatic machines. At only 2.35 lbs the tool is ultra compact and lightweight to ensure strained, awkward, or continuous use is simpler and more comfortable for operators. Ideal for the most intricate finish, trim, and remodeling work, the FinishPro 10 fastens securely while still only making a virtually imperceptible hole in your materials. a hardened steel driver contributes to overall longevity, and with a smooth metal cap to protect your working materials, the pinner, with durabilty and delicate precision, yields results impeccable to the slightest detail. To ensure you are safe from a frustratingly empty magazine, the tool has a low load indicator, and is designed to load easily. The nailer shoots 1/2" - 1" fasteners, and with the help of a rear Exhaust System, your work is protected from damaging oil and dust. Altogether, this pin nailer is built with sophistication for smooth, powerful, comfortable use in even hard woods and rough materials, and pricing at just about $130, the nailer is a smart, affordable addition to your tool repertoire.
Porter-Cable is another superior performer in the world of pneumatics; built with durable innovation, and brilliant speed and power, Porter-Cable's PIN100 1" pin nailer is uncommonly awesome in a variety of tough applications. Shooting 23 gauge micro pin nails from 1/2" to 1" long, the tool automatically adjusts to different fastener lengths to ensure that your pins are not only permanently tight, but always in the right place as well. Additionally, the tool's bottom load magazine holds 170 micro pin nails, and because it also has a nail reload indicator, empty magazines will be the least of your worries. Weighing only 2 lbs, the nailer is extremely lightweight; this compact design provides optimized access into tight spaces, corners, and awkward spots - ultimately keeping you more comfortable and your materials more protected from the potential dents or dings of a bulkier tool. The pinner's rear exhaust port channels debris, tool oil, and other contaminates away from your workpieces, and pricing from about $100 - $110, the tool is both professionally awesome and quite affordable.
On another hand, while this Air Locker tool is best suited for light-duty users and light-duty applications, the Air Locker P630 (23 gauge) micro pin nailer is a great tool at an astounding value. The tool's components are built for durability and because the tool comes both with a case, as well as a replacement driver and o-ring kit, craftsmen can be certain the tool will remain kicking for a good, long while. The nailer automatically adjusts for fastener lengths from 1/2" through 1-3/16", rendering the tool always accurate as well as simple to operate for any degree of user. The P630 features a bottom load magazine and an adjustable exhaust to ensure oil and any other contaminates are directed away from your working materials, and although this nailer doesn't necessarily perform on par with heavy-duty Senco or Porter-Cable models, the tool definitely carries its own weight. Ultimately, pricing at $59, the P630 offers light users a strong tool with the drive to complete light applications with notable high-performance and a ridiculously low price.
In the end, one of these pneumatic pin nailers is certain to meet your individual needs and specifications. With the power to keep your pins professionally secured, and the precision to do it cleanly and delicately, one of these pinners is your ticket to professional, beautiful results.

Listing port side when cruising in 24 ft. Starcraft Islander?
Just got 1989 Starcraft Islander with inboard Merccruiser 6 cyl. engine.
Adjusted engine trim all the way down. left St. Joe pier head, in Michigan and headed out to 80 ft. of water. NW wind 5 knots... 1 ft. waves.
After getting up to about 25 knots bow of boat started diving down and to the left from time to time. Was scary...thought we were going to auger it right into the water.
Could this be the result of the power trim on the motor being all the way down?
You should not run with the engine all the way down, that is what will cause your bow to dig in. The listing may have come from a few things. Engine torque can tilt the boat over, especially at higher revs. If the wind was off your port side, you will have had to steer slightly to port to head straight. This will also cause the boat to list that way. Also if you had more weight/ people on one side the boat will tilt that way. If you have trim tabs you need to learn to adjust for different trims.

Hi! I bought a 1990 Yamaha 650 Waverunner, filled it up w gas like my SeaDoo and didn't realize that the Yamaha need 2 cycle oil mixed in w the gas. So. I put it in the water, it started ran really slow and smokes. I realized the problem and put as much oil as we had straight into the Gas Tank and shook the waverunner in the water. It was about 12 ounces for 6 gallons of gas which is about 4 ounces short I believe. Still smoked and ran slow. I've since gotten it out and not started it, but I'm sure i would still start so I didn't kill it just yet. It maybe ran for 30 minutes? Any ideas of how I should proceed? Help please! I'm obviously a beginner when it comes to jetskis. Thanks for any help!
You may have too much oil.
That machine does use 2 stroke oil, but it came equiped with a tank and injection system. It should mix the fuel automatically.
First determine if the oil injection has been removed or not, then check the plugs to see if they are oil fouled.
Custom fit golf clubs give you a distinct advantage in your golf game, at the same time lowering your handicap. Most PGA professional golfers have their golf clubs custom fitted, because they know that an extra length or kilogram of weight can make a difference in the way a club moves before and after the moment of contact with ball.
Do Amateurs Need Custom Fit Golf Clubs?
If you are a high handicapper who likes to play 18 holes on the weekend, you are probably thinking if it is worth spending the money on getting custom fit golf clubs is worth it as far as improving your game. Most high handicappers will benefit from the modifications, because they have the greatest room for improvement.
A professional club fitter will customize your golf clubs to your particular height, strength, clubhead speed, and the dynamics of your individual swing. Golf clubs come in standard lengths and specifications to fit an individual who is about five-nine in height, who with a 6-iron, hits approximately 150 yards. If you are that golfer, then off the shelf clubs will fir your game. If not, then go ahead and look into getting a custom fitting for your golf clubs.
When you go for your golf club custom fitting, you may be surprised to find out that the fitting mostly consists of you hitting the ball with the new set of clubs. The club fitting pro will mark you club ( the club face) with special tape that is marked every time you hit the ball.
By watching where the marks end up on the clubface, the club pro can see what adjustments need to be made. The shaft, loft, and club head can be modified, to make your clubs perfectly suited to your body physique and swing. If you buy high priced golf clubs, your fitting may be included in the cost. If it is not, you can expect to be charged maybe $50 or more for the club-fitting fee.
Other Equipment
Besides the custom fit golf clubs, every golfer needs some other basic equipment to assist him with his game. After all, the game is intended to be enjoyable. Use a golf bag that allows you to slide clubs easily in and out. Whether you use a powered golf cart, a pull cart, or decide to carry your clubs, you should buy a bag that fits your style of play.
A golfer who uses a power cart will want easy access exterior zippers and small compartments that face outwards when the bag is on the back of a golf cart. A golfer who uses a pull cart will want the same pockets to be accessible when he or she plays with a non-powered cart.
Every golfer also needs a tight-fitting golf glove to hold the club firmly. If you are right-handed, buy a glove for your left hand; if you are left handed, buy a glove for your right hand.
In conclusion, custom fitted golf clubs and helpful accessories will extend the enjoyment of the game for you, whether you a professional or a weekend warrior, looking to escape on the green for a while.

With a range of hand held GPS devices and a line of marine electronics that carry their tradition of navigation assistance to the marine market, Garmin is a name that is widely associated with GPS systems. They start at $129.99 and go up to $599.99. Garmin also makes a number of chart plotters with bright four inch QVGA color displays with high speed design for faster map drawing and panning. The chart plotters cost from $499.99 to $999.99. This price range puts Garmin right in the middle of all other brands prices.
Along with Chart plotters and GPS navigation systems, Garmin also makes VHF marine radios with features that make them an easy fit to your marine safety package. The Garmin VHF 100 has up to 25 watts of power so that you can make contact regardless of where you are on the water. The VHF 100 has Class D Digital Selective Calling (DSC) capability and can give out distress calls with one click of a button. Boats that have a compatible GPS plotter can use the VHF 100 as a mayday signaling devise which will broadcast the boats location. NOAA weather alerts and position tracking are also a feature of this radio along with the ability to track your friends who are out on their boats in your area.
Also made by Garmin are the VHF 300 AIS, VHF 300 and VHF 200. For 35 foot or larger boats the 300 AIS is designed to monitor all Automatic Identification System channels simultaneously, guaranteeing you never miss a transmission. The AIS 600 transceiver is also available. It's a device that allows you to receive AIS target data and transmit your vessel information to other AIS receivers in your vicinity.
The GPH 10, an easy to use autopilot system, is the first in a line of auto guided navigation by Garmin. This devise has patented Shadow Drive technology that allows the boaters to maintain control when relying on the autopilot system. There is an automatic Normal 0 disengagement if the helm is turned so that the operator can maneuver the craft. When holding a steady course it automatically re-engages. As many as three controllers for this autopilot system may be had for controll in multiple locations on the boat.
The TR1 Gold Marine Autopilot is sold only in North America and makes available autopilot on small gasoline outboard boats with motors up to 20 hp. It's the first true autopilot designed for smaller boats that are used for trolling or fishing. It can be set so that it holds its position against wind, current, or waves, and with the optional wireless remote, it gives control over steering and throttle control from anywhere on board.
Garmin also makes fish finders, sounders, radar, and marine networking equipment in its stable of marine electronics products. Garmin has been making navigation and communication equipment since 1989, and is based on vertical integration, meaning that the company designs, manufactures, and markets their own products. Garmin also makes automotive and aviation navigation electronics as well as fitness, recreation and smart phone applications that bring GPS technologies to as many applications as possible.

The most widely used item of all the marketing items is surely the stickers. They are found at almost every place in the world. They have gained a lot of popularity. Their importance is evident through their wide-spread usage in any marketing campaign. One of the reasons as to why they are so popular is their low cost. It becomes more important when their results can be seen in their impact among the customers for improving the business identity of a business in a positive manner.
There are many types of stickers. They have been developed according to various situations for which they are going to be used. Some of the well known categories include the round stickers, rectangular stickers, die-cut stickers and custom stickers. Material wise, they may be based on paper or vinyl plastic. Composition wise, they can be prepared using normal production methods intended for paper or plastic materials, or they could be made of specific material, like the metal. One such category is called the static cling stickers. These are unique as they do not stick on to a surface; rather they cling on to a surface with the help of static charge.
Some of the uses of stickers involve them to be used for fun. Examples of such stickers can be given in funny stickers, comic stickers, cartoons and many more. They are intended to attract the less aged audience like the children. But they can be equally effective against the grown-ups as well. They provide good source of entertainment and fun. There are other uses of stickers as well. For example, they can be used for religious, educational, informative and marketing purposes. Indeed, they can be seen at almost any place we can imagine.
One of the most important things in the success of funny stickers is their printing quality. It can make them a huge hit among the customers or can make them a blunder for the marketing company. The importance of stickers printing services is increased manifold this way. Many companies are vying to claim the best company n the printing field but one has to be careful while choosing a company. Some of the most important things to note while choosing such a company include the variety offered, quality, experience, pricing, printing techniques, shipping methods, and customer portfolio, etc.
The best printing technique is called the full color CMYK printing process which offers a great way of creating stunning looking colors while keeping the costs low. Our company offers highly customized funny stickers printing designs. We have a huge variety of products to serve our multi-national clients. Our services are offered at discounted rates while our shipment is also totally free. We also offer many other printing services like the presentation folders printing services.
Customization allows the customers to make stickers perform in a way they think is the best. It is also a source of competition in the market which results in better products and lower costs. Practically, any aspect of the product can be changed utilizing this product.

“Net debt†means a company’s debt minus cash and cash equivalents. The cash might not be available for repaying the debt, say the analysts, especially if there is a downturn in the economy.
The 2006 Omnicom annual report said “net debt†at the end of 2006 was $1.13 billion and total debt was $3.06B. It says that “net debt is a non-GAAP financial measure.â€
This means that it is not covered under the “Generally Accepted Accounting Principles†that are supposed to apply to financial reports.
OMC adds: “We believe this presentation is meaningful for understanding our net debt position and it reflects one of the key metrics used by us to assess our cash management.â€
A guideline of the National Investor Relations Institute is that if non-GAAP numbers are reported the company must also report the GAAP number.
It recommends that the “real†quarterly income figures be reported before any “pro-forma†calculations.
OMC stock is currently around $50, which is below its high of $53.50 reached on Dec. 17, 1999. More than 40 million of the 372 million shares outstanding have recently been purchased by the company.
OMC’s interest payments rose 60% ($46.9M) in 2006 from $78M to $124.9M. CEO John Wren was paid $13.4M in 2006. His options include 3,000,000 shares exercisable at $40 that vested in full on April 4, 2007 and are worth an immediate profit of about $30M if exercised.
Barron’s in 2005 called OMC “a beleaguered stock†and said too much insider selling was one of the reasons.
WPP Only Reports “Net Debtâ€
WPP Group, unlike OMC, only reports net debt and “average net debt.†Analysts say it’s hard to figure out the exact real debt of WPP although Bloomberg said it was $4.8B at the end of 2006 (on revenues of about $12B).
WPP, whose primary listing is on the London Stock Exchange, put its “net debt†at about $2.4B at the end of 2006.
The report also showed WPP to have “net tangible assets of -$5.2B (because it is carrying $11.6B in good will). Its payables of $12.1B exceeded receivables of $8.8B.
Analysts say that AT&T’s “net debt†figure is 38% smaller than its real debt of $17.5B. AT&T does this by counting cash on hand and excluding $1B in debt that is related to changes in foreign-exchange rates. The U.S. dollar has weakened lately against the euro and the U.K. pound.
Verizon reported “net debt†of $49.9B for the first quarter without mentioning its total long-term and short-term debt of $54.1B.
Dana’s reported second-quarter “net debt†of $2B counted $546M the company had in cash. Also counted was $841M in debt in its Dana Credit Corp. unit and $86M in cash in the unit.
Dana is the object of a hostile takeover and isn’t free to spend its cash, say analysts.
Another abuse, say analysts, is claiming “non-recurring†costs when such costs occur on a regular basis.
PR Figures Withheld by WPP
WPP, in its 2006 annual report, gives positive reports about its PR units in 2006 but provides no figures.
Hill & Knowlton, the report says, had its “strongest revenue growth in over six years†while Cohn & Wolfe had “another stellar year with significant growth in both top and bottom lines.â€
GCI had a “strong year†and Ogilvy PR “enjoyed continued global expansion of client engagements throughout 2006.â€
Burson-Marsteller saw “continued improvement†in profitability and revenue growth†and Robinson Lerer & Montgomery “turned in excellent financial results.â€
The profit margin on PR, headed by Howard Paster, went from just over 10% “several years ago†to 15%, the report says.
PR fees of WPP units grew 5.9% in 2006 not counting acquisitions and were $1.15B or 10.1% of WPP’s revenues. PR growth including acquisitions was 12%.
The WPP annual report highlights awards won by PR and advertising units, the Ogilvy One direct response and digital unit reporting it won 595 awards in 2006. Ogilvy has declined to supply a list of those awards.

how do i reinstall upper unitdrive shaft in a 1988 bayliner2.3 omc?
i took off the entire unit to replace clutch dog now i can't get the shaft back in the motor
It takes practice but I'll try to walk you through it. I assume your talking about the splined Drive Shaft, that has the universal joints. First, set the boats shift box in neutral gear. Then do the same with the Lower unit shift lever, the part that shifts the gear. Then ideally you would use an alignment bar to check engine alignment, but if you didn't move the engine, it shouldn't have changed. Next install the Gasket Kit. the one that has the water passage gasket and the upper housing gasket. Next put a block of wood under the skeg that will take most of the weight of the unit. Use your hand to insert the splined shaft through the main bearing in the transom shield.
Now the hard part. Using your hand rotate the universal joints slightly in order to align the splines, at the same time lift the drive and push toward the Transom shield. The drive should slip in easily. However if the bearing has moved you'll really need the alignment tool. It's the same for Mercruser and OMC Cobra. Once it slides in, rebolt but do not use the nuts to "pull the shaft or drive "into place.
You might want to take it to a dealer who is used to doing this, it shouldn't take 10 min to put it on, but if you've never done it, it's very difficult. If you don't have the alinement tool it's almost impossible.
Good luck.
Please disregard Mr. fixit's putting in gear, that is true for Mercrusier but incorrect for OMC Cobra.

There are many different types of boat lifts available on the market today. Some of these lifts can be purchased in "do it yourself" kits others require professional installation. The choice of a boat lift primarily depends on the type of waterfront you live on, the amount of money you want to spend, the type of boat you have (aluminum vs. fiberglass) and the size of your boat. Boat lifts also can be installed with either manual winches (up to 2000lbs) or electrical winches (1000lbs and up).
Unless you have a very light aluminum boat, we highly recommend purchasing electrical motor(s) to doing the lifting of the boat. Not only is it an extremely easier way of lifting your boat out of the water, but also, you may upgrade down the road to a heavier fiberglass boat and it would one less replacement cost.
There are new types of boat lifts coming out every season, so for the purpose of this article, we will focus on the most effective and popular.
Davits:
Davits have been the most common type of boat lift for many, many years. Basically, they are two steel poles that are called "booms" that are installed either on the sea wall or on pilings. The booms are attached to a base that is bolted down to either the sea wall or the piling. Each boom swings 360 degrees so that should you purchase a bigger boat, most likely the booms can be swung out to still be able to attach to the boat. If not, extensions are available to upgrade, if needed. Each boom has a Stainless Steel cable (make sure it is stainless steel cable) that attaches to both the boat and the winch.
One boom cable attaches to the front cleat either under or on top of the bow of the boat and the other attaches to the rear. The vast majority of boats require a spreader bar to be attached to the boom pulling up the rear of the boat. The reason for this is twofold; there are two cleats on the rear of the boat to attach and the spreader bar keeps the boat even when lifting and when out of the water on the lift.
As far as whether to attach the davits to pilings or to the sea wall, there are different schools of thought on that. We recommend speaking to the installers about what they recommend, however, we have seen many a lift pull a piling right out of the water while the boat is being lifted. One other maintenance that must be performed yearly is the inspection of your cables. Again, we have seen many a boat lift cable snap and send one end of the boat crashing down into the water. We suggest replacement every four years or so, depending on usage and weather.
One davit alone can also be installed to use as a Personal Watercraft (Jet Ski) lift. The only additional equipment needed is a sling that attaches to the one boom cable. The sling is a polyester strap with two stainless steel panels that attach to either side of the Jet Ski to lift it out of the water. Again, an electrical or Manual Winch can be installed and the boom swings 360 degrees.
Final note: There are many different sizes of davits and booms that can be purchased depending on your boat specs. Piling Mount Boat Lifts:
This type of boat lift attaches directly to piling which eliminates all support beams. This type of lift is great for sail boats and boats with towers. They also come in many types of capacities, depending on the weight of your boat.
Drive on Boat Lifts:
This type of boat lift is becoming more and more popular due to the maintenance free nature of the lift. The only determining factor is that you have to live on a waterway that always has water. For example, many types of canals, at low tide, do not have enough water in them to support this type of lift. They are considered very user-friendly, convenient and safe.
They can support ranges from a 12 foot dinghy to a 50 foot offshore boat. The boat lift is drive on and basically goes up and down with the tides. It attaches to the pilings on your dock making boarding and access easy. Its also modular and portable meaning if you move, you can take it with you.
Cradle Boat Lifts:
Currently there are 25 different types of cradle boat lifts available. They can be either steel, aluminum or a combination of both. They have capacities ranging from 4,500 to 30,000 pounds.
Marine Elevator Boat Lifts:
Marine elevator boat lifts are ideal for extreme tidal areas or other unusual docking conditions. The capacity of these lifts is from 2,000 to 14,000 pounds.

Bombardier Becomes First Oem To Earn Accreditaton From Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (Afra)
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 23, 2010) - Bombardier Aerospace and the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) today announced that Bombardier's aircraft dismantling operations have officially been accreditated by AFRA. The accreditation, which was awarded following a comprehensive two-day audit, covers teardown efforts for CRJ100/200 regional jets at Bombardier's Service Centers in Bridgeport West Virginia and Tucson, Arizona. AFRA is recognized worldwide for its leadership in promoting best practices for salvaging and recycling components taken from aging aircraft during disassembly.
The AFRA endorsement marks another step in Bombardier's drive to reduce the environmental impact of its products at each stage of the aircraft's life cycle, up to and including the end of its service life.
"Bombardier is proud to be the first original equipment manufacturer to obtain this certification," said James Hoblyn, President, Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft, Bombardier Aerospace. "We are committed to being at the forefront of the aerospace industry with regard to corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship, and are continually embedding sustainable development principles into our day-to-day practices - whether it be in recycling aircraft parts, reducing and offsetting carbon emissions or desigining aircraft with reduced environmental impact."
"We are delighted to extend AFRA's accreditation to such a prominent and prestigious company as Bombardier Aerospace," said Martin Fraissignes, Executive Director of AFRA. "Their AFRA accreditation further recognises Bombardier Aerospace's continuing commitment to environmental best practice and operational excellence in the field of aircraft dismantling and parts recycling. The fact that a distinguished company such as Bombardier Aerospace seeks AFRA accreditation for their aircraft recycling activities, further reinforces the fact that AFRA is the global industry leader in defining environmental and technical standards in managing end of life aircraft."
"AFRA now sets the industry standards for the safe and sustainable disassembly of end-of-service aircraft - and these standards are of such environmental and financial value," continued Mr. Fraissignes, "that the leaders in the industry continue to adopt them, as can be seen by the steadily increasing interest in AFRA accreditation."
In August, Bombardier announced that it would work in conjunction with Magell
