Quetta the next Baghdad

The shameful report of US considering to begin assault on Quetta the provincial capital of the troubled Balochistan province of Pakistan has raised huge alarm for the Pakistani nation. This nation is facing the worst trauma due to American conspiracies and ugly actions. With Kerry Lugar Bill for sanction of huge Aid to Pakistan is just a sugar coated poison which Mr. Zardari and his PPP Government happily swallowed and thought that people of Pakistan are fool to accept this as their success. Not a day passed when this report of US Plans to attack Quetta came into light which is not a slap but a booted foot on the face of this democratically elected Government and toothless opposition lead by Mr. Nawaz Sharif.

Since long, USA is insisting that Osama and Mullah Omar are hiding in Pakistan. The conspiracy behind specifically targeting Quetta for this particular reason has many reasons to understand. Balochistan is facing a very potential uprising to fight for its rights and for its Independence too. Right now, due to immense and intense vigilance and actions against Baloch Nationalists and separatists, the movement seems to be dieing quickly and loosing its touch. More over the growing influence of Taliban inside south eastern part of Afghanistan has blocked the access of American and Indian aided agents to enter and create unrest inside Balochistan. To aid and to protect Baloch separatists, American and Indian coalition had no other option but to build reason for American forces to land inside this province and more specifically to Quetta which has an Army Garrison too. The charges on ISI to support Mullah Omar is clearly seen as a direct threat to the very important Army Base in Quetta. Pakistan cannot take any action inside Quetta right now because the hate for the Army is already reaching highest limits inside this province and USA knows that Pakistan is not in a position to start any operation in Quetta.

The smiling face of Mr. Zardari is telling the story that he is more interested in gathering more and more and more money from the world in the name of loyalty and compliance to the black agenda of USA. Rather than doing more, the situation now seems to me as if he is saying to America that “ask more” and the price for every compliance seems to be fixed already.

Pakistani nation is tormented and mentally paralyzed due to price hike, lack of water, electricity and in winter season the natural gas shortage is also predicted. In present circumstances when America is all set to land its forces in Pakistan, our nation will already be made mentally weak to defend itself from such a huge assault on our sovereignty.

The game plan of targeting Quetta has very deep roots. Quetta is believed to be embracing a very huge population of Pashto speaking people which is believed to be loyal to Pakistan. Although majority of Balochi people are also the supporters of Pakistan but targeting Pashtun community is the prime goal of USA. In the name of hunt for Mullah Omar, the game plan is to expel this Pashtun population out of Balochistan which is expected to be the main resistant force to stop any separatist movement in that province. To be more specific the target of probable American operation would only be the Pashtun community of Balochistan.  It seems that all corners have been trimmed and all knitting of this ugly action has been completed and it must be the story of just days or weeks when we will hear that American Marines are landing in Balochistan.

It is believed to be highly criminal from the part of our Government to keep people of Quetta in dark about the situation. The magnitude of loss of lives in Quetta would be unbelievable if the city is not vacated in the next few days. The Government seems to be not interested to give any such advice right now on American orders because any havoc would make the so called targeted Taliban leaders to run with the crowd and fade away. Although it is widely believed that Taliban’s spiritual leader is not in Pakistan but in Iran but American insistence on his presence in Quetta has motives described above which is to  strengthen the separatists movement in Balochistan.

In present circumstances, it becomes the duty of every Pakistani to defend our motherland and be prepared to fight hand to hand with the American Marines who would find no resistance from our Politicians, our Army, our Navy and our Air force. The attitude of the defenders of our motherland can be seen from the fact that no Drone has ever been knocked down by Pakistani Airforce and their assaults are crossing the limits every day. If the question of our sovereignty is concerned Black water, Dyn-Corp and many others are already operating inside Pakistan with free movement and access with most modern weapons allowed them to be used whenever and wherever they want. It is our people who should decide that are we ready to bow head in front of USA and become slaves again for centuries to come or we will save our motherland from the claws of opportunist politicians and leaders who are puppets of the super power and have their villas ready in offshore islands.

The assault on ISI is visible because those elements inside ISI who are safeguarding the national interest are being targeted repeatedly. There have been many changes made and many forced retirements have been seen in the most effective Intelligence Agency which are effecting negatively to the capability of this agency and may result in its subsequent dilution.

In short, people of Pakistan should be ready both mentally and bodily to accept that our days of Independence are limited now. If we really want to save it, then we should decide now or may be it will be too late to curse our weaknesses and our inability to defend our motherland.

It is now useless to see towards our leaders who are already a sold product and have no interest in saving us from the bloodshed by US Marines, the Drone attacks and they have already taken their salary for throwing us at the feet of America to become slaves not only for now but for generations to come.

Radio Sports for Die-hard Hobbyists

Radiosport as a term is sometimes used as two separate words, or as a single word. It refers to the use of amateur radio equipment or the "ham", in short, as a part of playing some sort of game. It might be group event or a single person event. It can involve other competitors in real time like a race or like a performance or achievement over a given time frame.

The contests are usually sponsored events, and can last anywhere between a few hours and 2 days, the world wide contests being two days usually. It can be local in a specific region, or may involve traveling a long distance. It can be a cumulative contest taking place over many weekends, or a sprint contest which lasts only a few hours. The rules are specific for the event and they include which stations (which regions) may participate and the like.

This is usually called radiosports. This can be any of the following.

Dx-Contest: This is when stations are to make two way contact with as many stations as possible over the longest distance possible. This is called the International DX-Contest today. Awards may be given for the following accomplishments. The "Worked All States Award" if the entrants make contact with someone from every state in the USA. The "Worked All continents Award" is given for making contact with someone from every continent. "Worked All Zones Award" is the same concept with time zones. Other awards include the DX Century Club award, and the UHF/VHF Century Club award.

Another event is an Amateur Radio Direction finding using radios. A specific number of transmitters needs to be found from a specific region in a map before reaching the end line. This relies on the athletic ability of the ham operator as well as some direction finding skill with radios.

Fox Oaring or Bunny hunting: This is similar to the previous contest but involves more short range equipment of the hams, and so it relies more on the direction finding skills of the contestant rather than the athletic ability. It's more technical in nature than the previous contest, and the radio can detect signals only 100 meters or so away, so the contestant must locate the transmitter hidden in an area of 200 meter radius.

A more severely restricted game than the Fox Oaring is the Radio orienting contest in compact areas. This requires very high technical skills.

There is another form of the amateur radio direction finding, or bunny hunting, that utilizes transportation with vehicles over long distances. The hams have to travel in their vehicles to the specific region and find the transmitter. Whoever finds the transmitter first and reaches the finish line is the winner. A variation is that the one to find a specific number of transmitters hidden in different places first is the winner. This relies on the traveling skill, orientation skill and the equipment efficiency too.

These events are called ARDF contests, which is short for Amateur Radio Direction Finding Contests. Contests or radiosports are just a part of the hobby activity. Entering contests is not a requirement, but there are many who pursue this almost obsessively, and collect winning certificates by the dozen in fact. On the other extreme are those that are equally passionate about being a ham, but do so purely for communication and satisfaction. The significant thing about hams that needs to be mentioned here is that the hams can and do make regular contact with space stations. Many astronauts are licensed amateur radio operators and use their radios for educational purpose as well as an emergency backup.

So what was once spanning a small region locally in the beginning now has penetrated into space! What was once only Morse code based has now evolved into greater variations involving voice, digital transmission and so on. It is exciting to see how much radio transmission has changed in recent years.

Start with 20 inmates on Death Row, place them on a very small tropical island with no food, no shelter, and no way to escape the island. Give them a map with a small cache of knives buried somewhere on the island and let them find it.

Over the course of the next week or so, there will certainly be several incidents of violence, hunger, prhaps cannibalism, and even some forbidden cellblock bubba love.

The inmate who is the last one standing, or has reached the superstar status on the island is deemed the winner and will be awarded an inflatable dingy with one oar, a compass, a book of matches and a botle of water.

Televise it on a network in the same fashion survivor is and even include a wagering by text message option for your favorite inmate.

That's really funny. My friends brother had an idea sort of like that. He said that instead of wasting money on special effects movie companies should just take death row inmates and use them. I acctually think that's almost a good idea. The death sentance is way too easy for some of the people on it, so this would be a way to make it a bit more fitting.

Learning X-country Skiing. It’s Great Fun and Heart Healthy

Some years ago my wife, Irma, and I decided we were going to take up cross country skiing. Some of our friends were doing it so we thought, why not us. Not being the guy who takes advice readily, I went out and purchased cheap wooden skis, bindings and boots. You would think that having read many hundreds of advice articles on purchasing outdoor equipment I would have learned something over the years. Not exactly. I find it easier to give advice rather than to learn from others.

Let’s start with the skis.

There are basically two materials of which skis are made. Wood or fiberglass. There are also two types of skis. Wax and non wax. Some people refer to non wax as fish-scale skis.

Not all wooden skis are poor quality. Some of the best wooden ski makers in the world are in Norway. They are nice and wide and are great for breaking trail. These skis must be waxed thus another problem comes into play.

Fiberglass skis come in waxable and non waxable. Waxable fiberglass skis are used by racers who need speed and grip control for every temperature gradient. The wax is applied to the bottom of the ski and is used to push against the snow and is not used to glide. Almost every recreational skier today uses fiberglass skis with fish-scale bottoms.

Now back to our cheap wooden skis. Irma and I were trying to teach ourselves to ski. We think it is the best method of learning x-country-skiing.

We were attempting to cross a creek. A narrow wooden plank had been placed there for that purpose but was too narrow for the skis. Irma crossed over and I threw one of her skis over and it broke completely in two pieces.

Next trip, the bail holding the ski-boot to the ski flipped out and disappeared into two feet of snow never to be seen again. We were coming to the conclusion that the cheap road was the wrong road. I then purchased a pair of those top quality Norwegian wooden skis. They worked beautifully. Well, that is, until I did it again. What is that expression, "the older we get, the dumber we get."

This time I tried to break out a large chunk of snow with the back of my ski. We needed something to stuff in a hole in our shelter to shut out the wind. Then we could boil some water for tea during a cross country ski trip. My good wooden ski snapped off an inch behind my boot binding. Not very smart.

Finally we purchased fiberglass skis with fish-scales and good bindings. We then set out to learn to ski properly. We taught ourselves.

Because we didn’t have the luxury of groomed trails we had a problem making a 180 degree turn. We would come to a dead end area with a fence barring the way. Keeping our balance while turning one long ski at a time was tough to do. The proper way to turn while at a dead stop was to balance on the left ski while lifting the right ski and laying it down in the opposite direction and maintaining your balance, bringing the left ski around to parallel with the right.

We soon found some groomed trails to practice our skills. Place your skis in the tracks and push off. It’s only a matter of keeping your balance. That will come with time. Where the going gets tough is when you encounter a hill. Going up you must herring bone. You place your ski out from your body at an angle and bring the other ski out at the opposite angle and do this maneuver repeatedly until you reach the top.

The toughest challenge to master is descending a steep hill with a turn at the bottom. Track setters generally leave an area from the middle of the hill to the bottom without a track. This allows you to step around the turn in little steps. Almost like ice skating or roller blading. Try to keep the majority of your weight on the inside ski.

Learning x-country-skiing is great aerobic exercise for your heart and will keep you in a wonderful frame of mind as you roam the country-side.

Can I safely take a 1970 17 foot Vee tri-hull ski-boat with a 100 HP engine into the ocean?

I just got myself a boat here in Kansas. I am thinking about taking to San Diego, CA for the winter. I want to go out of the bay to some of the winter fishing spots in the ocean. All the spots I know of are well within site of the City. I plan on taking a GPS and an emergency radio. I do not have much experience with boats but I will plan on using it quite a bit this winter and fall on the lakes here in Kansas.

97 kaw stx 1100 trouble starting and fuel gauges dont work?

hey i bought this jet ski yesterday and it started up fine twice right away when i demo'd it. but today i tried to start it and it doesnt kick over. i bought it knowing the gauges dont work, it has a little bit of water in it and i was wondering what i could do to fix that, they said the warning light still works though
thanks for any help

you either have electrical trouble or your spark is to weak to start it take it to a shop and have it looked at

These different types are sea, wooden, skin on frame, folding, military, recreational, whitewater, surf, wave, racing, multi type, fishing, standing in, and sit on kayaks. It all depends on what you fancy, and what you prefer.

What is the best boat for the job?

Ok I am looking for a good jon boat to go fishing, hunting, and maybe pulling intertubes from time to time. This boat will mainly be used for fishing jug fishing and noodling so it will be operating in shallow water. I am also looking at good motors and assecories if you can help thanks a lot.

For this type of use, Boston whalers are the best. A 17' Montauk would do a great job for you and would be very easy to maintain. Good resale value also.
You also can pick a flat bottom fishing boat but you would not have the same stability with people on board.

For the engine, we love 4 strokes outboard engine, they are quieter, use less gas and less maintenance

I have a Scion tc 2007 with 20000 miles on it. its base price was 17000 but I hooked it up with Kaminari Kit and Wing and DC-6 Tenzo Rims. Also Navigation and led lights, trd muffler, scion security, and scion tc fog lights. How much would my car be worth? The car is worth about 29 000 thousand so...

Youd be lucky to get much more than you originally paid for the car. Id say out of pure luck someone will pay close to 20gs for it. The add ons don't really cover the original depreciation and in some cases modifications can also lower the value of the vehicle

Sailing Safety Guide

Sailing is a wonderful hobby, but as with any sport it can be dangerous. From novices to the most experienced sailors, it's vital that you're safe on the water. With 54% of lifeboat services carried out for pleasure craft, you cannot afford to take risks on the water.

We've put together some basic rules, ideal if you are new to sailing:

Equipment - Check your equipment before casting off

Things you will need to have onboard:

Horseshoe lifebuoy An automatic light A danbouy A buoyant heaving line Don't forget to take plenty of water, it's easy to become dehydrated at sea.

A list of more equipment to keep aboard:

Spare can of fuel clearly marked - petrol, diesel, two stroke Set of oars or auxiliary outboard Tow rope First aid kit Torch Day and night distress flares Fire Extinguisher Bailer Anchor with adequate chain and rope Weather - Always be aware of offshore winds

Check the weather of your destination before you sail, and be prepared to change your schedule. Also keep in mind that you may have to alter your route mid-way.

Boarding your boat - Keep your balance

Extra care needs to be taken when boarding sailboats as they are prone to capsizing. Step as far in to the centre of the boat as possible and never step on to the edge of the boat.

Capsizing - Practice, practice, practice

When it comes to safe sailing, capsizing is extremely important. Always practice in a controlled environment.

Man overboard - Don't panic!

Being prepared in a rescue situation gives everyone a fighting chance. Everyone onboard should wear a Life Jacket equipped with a whistle and mirror. A whistle which can function when wet can pierce through the noise of the choppiest waters. A lifebelt and dinghy should be thrown overboard immediately.

If you are the person overboard, try to maintain visual contact with the boat. Use your whistle and mirror to get your crew's attention.

Clothing - Always protect your head, hands and feet when sailing.

Protection from the sun is very important because reflection from the sun on the water can cause sunburn. Apply a strong sunscreen to all areas of exposed skin and reapply regularly.

Wear warm protective clothing. Prolonged exposure to the cold can lead to exhaustion. A third of all body heat is lost through the head, so some form of head gear is essential. It will also protect you from sunstroke on sunny days.

Wearing gloves will protect your hands and keep them warm. Specialist gloves with non-slip reinforced fingers are best. Footwear should protect your feet and provide grip. Sailing shoes have non-slip soles. Never sail in bare feet - it's easy to slip on wet areas.

Hold on! - "One hand for the boat, one hand for yourself"

Always hold on to something and be prepared for any danger. A large wave or sudden gust of wind can toss your boat without warning. Always bend your knees for the best balance.

Wear a safety harness if sailing a keelboat. Secure it to a solid object in order to keep your hands free. Never use a safety harness on a dinghy.

Guard rails should always run the length of the deck. The rail ends should be secured with lashings or quick release slips so you can cut them to recover any man overboard.

Treat slippery surfaces with non-skid paint or stick on strips. Pay attention to tops of hatches and sloping coachroof sides which become walkways when the boat is heeled.

Action-Packed Boat Show Events In 2008

More and more people are adding the extravagant boat shows of 2008 to their social calendars. Nautical maneuvers are in full gear as the boating community eagerly anticipates seeing the newest vessels and marine products. While many of the events focus on introducing new ships and accessories, there also are competitions where yachtsmen are invited to enter and compete against each other, such as the Super yacht Cup Transatlantic Challenge 2008. So whether you are in search of a new boat or an exhilarating experience, the 2008 boat shows will not disappoint.

Tidewater Boat Show

The fourth annual Tidewater Boat Show is set for March 14 thru 16, 2008, at the Hampton Road Convention Center in Hampton, Va. The show is being sponsored by AGI Events. Numerous manufacturers of luxury yachts, sports boats, fishing boats, Personal Watercraft, inflatables, runabouts, saltwater fishing boats, ski boats, pontoon boats, deck boats, Jet Boats, PWCs, and bass boats will be on hand. There also are exhibits for various Marine Accessories, water-sports items and safety equipment. The show offers an all-encompassing guide on boating. Guests will find learn about marinas, financing, insurance, boat maintenance, boating safety, and marinas.

The Superyacht Cup Transatlantic Challenge 2008

Reserve the entire month of April for the Superyacht Cup Transatlantic Challenge 2008. It is the perfect ending to the Caribbean season. Celebrating its third anniversary, the rally begins in Antigua on the Atlantic via the Azores and finishes in the Port Vigo on the northwestern coast of Spain. The race features two levels of competition: a performance-sailing class and a rally class. All entrants are expected to finish in Azores within a 48-hour period.

During the stopover, there is a pre-start cocktail party at Nelsons Dockyard on April 7. Yachtsmen are expected to arrive in Azores at Horta Marina by April 17, take in three nights of events and festivities before starting out again to Port Vigo. The finish is expected by April 25. There is an awards ceremony the following evening. Registration info is available at the Superyacht Cups Web site.

2008 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show

The 2008 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show marks the 20th anniversary of the most prestigious boat show in the Asian Pacific. Last years event featured 456 exhibitors and was attended by more than 50,000 visitors. It is the largest on-water display in Australia with more than four kilometers of on-water exhibitors.

Larger power vessels longer than 15 meters (49 feet) to be shown include the Australian release of the Eagle 53 Yacht; Formula Cruisers Icon 54; the Australian debut of the Hampton 680 Pilothouse and the luxurious trawler yacht, the Selene 59. Luxury imports include Sunseeker and four models from Horizon Boats International.
