Hardware Multi Port
A KVM Switch is used to work on two or more computers using a single keyboard, mouse and monitor. Working on simple plug and play functionality, a user can connect the switch via USB/PS2 and VGA cables to the computer. Control can then be switched using buttons on the device or through keyboard commands. Depending upon the model of the switch being used, anywhere from 2 to 32 computers may be connected. By daisy chaining these devices, up to 512 connections is possible. More advanced models of a typical switch enable switching among multiple sound and USB sources along with keyboards, monitors and mice. A popular category is the DVI KVM Switch.
This device enables users to control and monitor DVI based video signals from different computers simultaneously with just one keyboard, DVI monitor and mouse. Once the source and display devices are connected to the switch and powered on, a user can switch between source devices using RS232, IR remote control or front panel push buttons. This switch is compatible with various platforms and operating systems such as DOS,Win3.X,Win95/98/98SE/2000/ME,WinNT, Netware, Unix, Linux. Available in 2 and 4 port versions, this device is perfect for applications that require mixed analog / digital operation. However, these switches also face the distance limitation since the placement of peripherals is restricted by the cable lengths.
To avoid these limitations, an IP KVM Switch can be used. KVM over IP switches use microcontrollers and specialized hardware to capture the signals from peripheral devices, compress and convert these into packets, and send them over an Ethernet link to a remote console application that unpacks and reconstitutes the dynamic graphical image. Using TCP/IP protocols, a user can control multiple computers remotely across a LAN or WAN through browsers. These devices support high resolutions up to 1920 x 1440 locally and 1600 x 1200 via IP. IP KVM units are ideal for environments where multiple user remote and secure access is needed such as in server rooms, data centers, banks and remote monitoring control centers. Available in many shapes, sizes and designs, this KVM switch adds greater flexibility and access to any network. The demand for these switches is increasing as they are a great choice for multi taskers who do not wish to invest in more peripheral devices than they already have.

Abdominal and love-handle work outs that aren't too muscle building?
I'm trying to find a few good workouts for my mid-section that I can do in the home and that aren't too painful/exhausting (I quit easily once I start feeling pain lol) and that won't make give me a six pack.
I used to perform belly-dancing and salsa dance and that kept my tummy flat for a long time. However, since I've moved I've been unable to find a group to dance with and thus can not do my dance exercises anymore. I simply want to get back to the super flat stomach that I had at 20 years old. Now, at 22 and stuck in the house due to horrible winter weather, I find myself with a bit of a flabby belly (due to lack of activity no doubt) and it's really pretty frustrating. I've had lots of decent work outs suggested to me (bicycle crunches, flutter kicks, other scary stuff) but they all look as though they will build muscle. Once again, all I want to do is get rid of the fat.

I think you're too worried about the 6 pack, building muscle will help you in so many ways and doesn't have to result in 6 pack abs.
The older you get the more muscle you will start losing, so it's even more important that you don't overlook building muscle as an important health issue.
It will help you burn calories and make you look firmer, tighter and more toned overall. Muscle mass burns 7 times more calories than fat so the more muscle you have the faster you'll burn calories and lose belly fat.
The bicycle is the top rated exercise by many professionals as the one to do if you only choose one since it works your main ab muscle more effectively and at the same time works your obliques.
Try the hoola hoop too, for a fun workout when you're stuck inside.

How do you change warter intake screen in 1977 85 hp johnson lower unit?
my engine has sat for 10 yrs and I am changing impeller and also my water intake screen has some of mesh broken. Is it necessary to replace and how? Also I have a new impeller and do I need any other parts before I tear it apart? Thanks Dave
might as well change the gear lube while you're at it. the impeller is all you need unless the wear plate is very worn. the intake screen just pops in and out, shouldn't be a problem. remember to turn the driveshaft clockwise only when replacing the impeller.

Ski Zone
Ski holidays are fun when you go as a group, either friends or family. Some people have enjoyed travelling for a skiing trip on their own, making it a challenging and active experience. Furthermore, ski holidays in Tignes are also good for the intermediate and professional level skiers, as they have a few red and blue zones that are both challenging and fun. What is a transducer?
Wikipedia says: “A transducer is a device, usually electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, electromagnetic, photonic, or photovoltaic, that converts one type of energy or physical attribute to another for various purposes including measurement or information transfer.” Examples of common transducers are microphones and speakers. Just consider the transducer for your depth sounder to be a combination of both. When the depth sounder transmits a signal the transducer coverts the electrical energy into acoustic energy, like a speaker. In the receiving mode the transducer reverses the process and converts the received acoustic energy back into electrical energy, like a microphone. Once you draw the comparison it’s much easier to understand just how the design and quality of the transducer effects the performance of the sounder. Even the very best depth sounders are no better than the quality of the transducer it’s connected to. If it’s not starting to glow yet, as you learn more about transducers that light will go on that tells you maybe I should have been paying more attention to what transducer I selected with that new sounder.
How a Transducer Works
The most basic type is called a single element transducer. That means it has one disc that vibrates at both 50kHz and 200 kHz. Higher performance transducers have multiple elements. On the higher end, transducers may have up to 15 individual elements. In these cases they would typically have one larger element for the 200kHz signal and 14 smaller elements working at 50kHz resulting in a much higher degree of sensitivity.
With regards to the transducer, it’s the combination of the amount of power transmitted, the size of the cone (beam angle), and the sensitivity of the transducer that determine how well any given sounder works.
Beamwidth and Frequency of a Transducer
A key element of any transducer is it’s beamwidth at a given frequency. Beamwidth is the size of the cone measured in degrees. Where a floodlight covers a wide area and therefore has a large beam width, a spotlight is more focused and has a narrow beamwidth. Not all of the signal is within the stated beamwidth of a transducer just as there is some dimmer light surrounding the main beam of a floodlight or spotlight. In case you were wondering. When the signal deminishes to half or less of the main beam, it’s no longer considered part of the beamwidth. That part of the cone outside the main beam is called the sidelobe. Targets that enter a sidelobe and reflect enough energy for the transducer to detect are still shown on the fish finder or depth sounder display.
It’s important to know about beamwidth and even sidelobes to properly use and interpet targets shown on your sounder. For example: With a beamwidth of 40 degrees, the signal cone is 36 feet wide at 50 feet below the boat. That means a fish detected in the main beam may be directly below you or 18’ away from center. If that same fish is large enough and is detected within the outer limits of a sidelobe it could be 50’ to one side or another. Extend those numbers to 100 feet deep and the fish, or structure, you think you’re on top of may be 100 feet or more away. That’s when knowing how to operate and interpet your fishfinder really makes all the difference.
The reason behind using sounders and transducers that operate on both 50 kHz and 200 kHz is the inherent characteristics of the specific frequency. Lower frequencies (50 kHz) can detect targets at greater distances and higher frequencies (200 kHz) have greater resolution. Lower frequencies use wider beamwidths than do the higher frequencies. A basic transducer may have a 50 kHz beamwidth of 46 degrees and 12 degrees at 200 kHz. Higher quality transducers focus the beamwidth to say 20 degrees at 50 kHz and 8 degrees at 200 kHz. Many GPS receivers can relay position data to a PC or other device using the NMEA 0183 protocol, or the newer and less widely used NMEA 2000. Although these protocols are officially defined by the NMEA, references to the these protocols have been compiled from public records, allowing open source tools like gpsd to read the protocol without violating intellectual property laws.
Other proprietary protocols exist as well, such as the SiRF and MTK protocols. Receivers can interface with other devices using methods including a serial connection, USB or Bluetooth. GPS receivers come in a variety of formats, from devices integrated into cars, phones, and watches, to dedicated devices such as those shown here from manufacturers Trimble, Garmin and Leica.

Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Thay pagoda and handicraft villages (bike 35km)
From Hanoi, a 30km-drive brings you to the 15th century Thay Pagoda, famous for its fantastic collection of carved wooden Buddha statues. After exploring the pagoda, bike through sweeping rice paddies, stopping at a traditional So noodle-making village. Peddle on through other villages, experiencing daily life deep in northern Vietnam's countryside and learning about the local traditions. Enjoy a picnic lunch before taking a leisurely walk beneath an avenue of betel nut trees to Chuong village, where villagers still produce one of Vietnam's most enduring symbols the conical palm-leaf hat. After shuttling back to Hanoi spend the late afternoon sightseeing around Hoan Kiem Lake, whose waters are said to hide a sacredâ and indeed magical golden turtle. Spend your first night in Hanoi.
Day 2: Nam Hong - Lim Town (bike 40km)
After traveling by shuttle to Dong Anh, a suburban district of Hanoi, bike through the Nam Hong flower village and on through other villages that grow bonsai trees. Spin through a colorful patchwork of green paddy fields, vegetable plots and flower fields en route to the ancient citadel of Co Loa, a large complex of temples and ruined earth fortifications that date back to the third century B.C. From the citadel ride to Thiet Ung village, famous for its intricate wooden statues, and visit the 200-year-old home of a prize-winning master carver. A quaint brick road leads to Dong Ky, another wood carving village, this one specializing in furniture. Peddle along a river dyke to Lim town, stopping to visit a beautiful village temple that perches above a lotus-covered pond. Travel by shuttle to Ha Giang and enjoy a home-cooked meal followed by a performance of traditional Quan Ho folk songs performed by local artists clad in colorful 1930s-style dresses. Shuttle back to Hotel and spend the night.
Day 3: Lim Town- Ha Long (kayak 5-7km)
Depart Lim Town for Ha Long with many photo opportunities en route: rice paddies, water buffaloes, farmers in the fields. Arrive at Ha Long Bay around noon and board our traditional wooden junk, then dine on fresh-caught seafood. After lunch, explore one of the largest caves in the bay, Sung Sot (Surprise Cave). Return to the boat for instruction on kayaking techniques and safety procedures, then follow your guide to explore three sea caverns. Back on the boat take the time to photograph the sun slipping behind the bay's myriad islands, then join your fellow travelers for dinner. If you wish, take a night-time paddle through the moonlit bay, then retire to your cabin to be lulled to sleep by the soft lapping of the waves.
Day 4: Ha Long Bay (kayak 5-7km)
Kayak through the biggest floating fishing village in Ha Long Bay, making stops at the floating primary school and at various floating houses to discover the locals' unique way of life. After lunch, a two-hour paddle brings you to the Three Lagoons, which you enter via a sea cavern. Next stop is Ba Men Temple, where local fishermen make offerings to the Whale God. Return to the junk and cruise to Three Peach Island, an ideal spot for a swim. Back on board, travel to Titop Island, where the boat will anchor overnight. Enjoy dinner on board and relax.
Day 5: Ha Long - Hanoi (kayak 5-7 km)
Enjoy the sunrise and an onboard breakfast as you cruise back to Duck Rock, from where you paddle to Incense Burner Island and explore a cave. Back on board the junk, enjoy the magnificent scenery as you cruise back towards the harbor. Following lunch in Ha Long City, drive back to Hanoi and bid the group farewell.

Does anyone own the Hobie sport or Hobie outback fishing kayak?
Just wondering what you thought of it, including its downfalls and how you like the peddle drive system. I fish at ponds and lakes.
I tried it and didn't care for it. If you get into shallow water with out a paddle you will need to get out of your yak. Know a few people who love them though. My favorite fishing kayak is a 10' Mainstream Streak, I have two rod holders mounted and a portable fishfinder on it and I love fishing from this thing. Oh yeah, the drive system works great, if your in water 2' or deeper.

With the launch of Audi A4 in the mid 90's, the German car maker made a quick progress in attaining the global recognition to the A4. The best of the car was the well designed cabin, all fresh interiors and wonderful handling and the option of 2-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive with Quattro technology. The most characteristics people love in the car is the European design and sensibility, inner ambience which are provided by the panel gaps, first class materials and comfortable seating. Audi redesigned the A4 for 2009 year which was one of the best cars than ever before. The redesigned car is much huger in all aspects than its predecessors. The width was increased by 2.1 inches and length was increased by 4/6 inches. The wheelbase was increased by 6.6 inches longer. Even with changes in its physical design, Audi A4 still remains the best choice for many drivers as it still maintains the same old good handling and nimbleness.
The 2009 version of the Audi A4 also features new version engine - a 2.0 liter, turbo-charged 4 cylinder engine which develops a whooping 211 Hp. The other new features that have been added are the daylight LED lights that were formatted from the Audi A8 car, which has now become another trademark for Audi. With the addition of lighter and stronger parts, more resistance to wind and more spacious cabin, Audi A4 is sure here to stay for quite long time. Audi's engineers have made a great progress by reducing the AC consumption by 20%, which in turn decreased the fuel consumption by 10%.
Apart from the interiors, Audi made many changes by adding on few extra technological features. They introduced the Adaptive cruise control system, blind spot detection, a rear-view camera and the Audi drive select, which allows the driver to choose dynamically the suspension system and steering, to make it more usable as a cruiser or either as a sports sedan. In a recent survey conducted, many have voted Audi as their top choice as a family car.
With the launch in UK market with the saloon segment, Audi planned to launch their Avant version into the UK markets next April. With the release of this version, the availability of the Audi A4 Cabrio will be reduced. The plans are to introduce a convertible version of the Audi A5 coupe in place of the Cabrio. Also Audi has made it clear that it will not build more than 1 RS model. So the RS4 may be delayed for some time now. Audi has launched a new model of life cycle and they would like to wait for at least two more years before launching the RS series.
But there can always be a change in the plan. Replacing the popular A4 Cabrio with the new series A5 will result in no more sales of the RS4 Cabrio, a important model that has been high in sales in the US markets. Nonetheless there are small similarities and differences between the models, which you can decide on based on personal preference.

Jetski issue.....?
So I have a 2000 Sea Doo GTX that I've had since new and last summer, my brother got in a wreck with it and flooded the engine. Now it's going to cost $2300 to replace the engine. Would I bet better off buying a new jet ski or buying a new engine? The suggested KBB value of the jetski is $3325.
I don't have the time or patience to do it myself.
get a rebuild kit for the engine, or go performance, it may be cheaper to go performance and have the work done in stead of buying a new motor. you don't need a new motor just a few key components, but the motor will be torn down to get to them, so you mind as well upgrade a few things. good luck.

If you have ever gotten rid of a computer, you know it can be a hassle.

Can I install a program from 2 drive on the one folder of the 3rd?
My Computer has 3 drives(C:, D: & E:). Windows Me has been installed on C: drive, Windows XP has been installed on D: drive and I use E: drive for installing programs from Windows Me & XP. Can I install a program from both O.S on the one folder on E:?
For example for using Mozilla Firefox in the both O.S., Can I install it from both O.S on the E:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox?
Note: I know Windows Me is out of date but I want to use it for some reasons.
It might work...then again it might not.
When you install a program it does more than put files in a folder. The system registry gets updated as well....and who knows what else.
Try it with a small non important program...see if it works, then go from there.

Power Adapter Connector
If you've confirmed with a known good voltmeter set to the right scale that the DC connector on the transformer isn't putting out any voltage, you have nothing to lose by unplugging the HP Pavilion DV7 AC Adapter(http://www.usadapter.com/Laptop-HP-Adapter/HP-Pavilion-DV7-AC-Adapter.html ) and cutting off the DC connector six inches or so before the jack end. Strip the end of the DC output cord still attached to the laptop AC adapter, make sure the ends are separated when you plug the HP Pavilion DV7 AC Adapter back into the power jack, and check for DC voltage across the exposed ends.
If there is no voltage, it's time to buy a new HP Pavilion DV7 AC Adapter. If the proper voltage is present, you'll need to buy a new connector solder it onto the cord or make up a new connector with two leads and splice it onto the power cord. You can order the HP Pavilion DV7 AC Adapter connector ends online if you know exactly the size you need (may be shown in the manual for your laptop if you have it available or can find it online) but you can also bring the cut-off connector to a Radio Shack or electronics store and match it by eye.
My HP Pavilion DV7 AC Adapter has been damaged.It was rated 18.5V and 3.5 AMP, 65W. I came across a replacement laptop ac adapter that is 19V and 4.74A, 90W. Look at Voltage and Amperage. In other words, the brick should be the right voltage, and it should be putting out the right wattage total. Volts x Amps = Watts.Under powering or overpowering the notebook will harm the laptop battery it will periodically heats up while charging... or not to charge at all. The battery might only charge with the unit off. The processor will have to work harder with this incorrect HP Pavilion DV7 AC Adapter voltage and amperage.These laptop manufacturers don't randomly reach into a bin to decide what HP ac adpater adapter you need for your laptop. There is a reason why there are so many different bricks with different voltage/amp combination's to achieve the same wattage. Each laptop has specific requirements.
The amperage and wattage rating is actually better than your original HP Pavilion DV7 AC Adapter. The only thing that is out of spec is the voltage rating which is 0.5V. This is nothing considering the voltage droops when the laptop ac adapter is under load. So am pretty sure that you have done a good replacement.

Broken Compaq AC Power Adapter problem?
I was on my Compaq laptop, when the charger' light wasn't lighting up. It turned on when i pressed it onto the laptop, but it kept turning off when i let go. When i got fustraed and tried to take it out, the connector came off! Sould i get another or can i or someone else in my family fix it?
I am not too sure what you mean by the connector came off. Sure, ask someone in your family to see if they know how to fix it; however, if they have no experience, I would not recommend doing anything with the electrical wiring as it may damage your laptop.
